EC ready to help upgrade Ukraine gas transport system

This move to be positive signal for those doubting the future of Ukraine's gas transport system

The European Commission (EC) is prepared to take part in the modernization of the Ukrainian gas transport system, notwithstanding uncertainties regarding its future operations, a UNIAN correspondent reported, referring to Vice-President for Energy Union Maros Sefcovic.

"It is in our common interest to modernize Ukraine's gas transport system," Sefcovic said at a joint briefing with Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman.

He added that such cooperation would be a positive signal to those who doubt the future of Ukraine's gas transport system.
