Finance Minister assures Ukraine is ready for IMF visit

Date of IMF mission arrival remains unknown

The Ukrainian authorities are getting ready for the IMF mission visit as the exact date of the arrival remains unknown, according to the Ukraine's Minister of Finance Oleksandr Danyliuk.

'We are ready,' the Minister said, when asked about Ukrainian authorities' preparedness for the next IMF mission visit, the implementation of the Fund's requirements and the ratification of the draft Memorandum.

The four-year EFF [Extended Fund Facility] program was originally worth around USD 17.5 billion divided into eight installments over two years. However, Kyiv only received the first two installments in March and August of 2015. IMF expects Ukraine to implement further reforms to obtain the rest of the money.

At the moment, the second revision of the cooperation programme is underway.

Ukraine and the IMF discuss wide range of the issues which includes various aspects of monetary, banking and anti-corruption policy, pension reforms and privatization. The revision should result in the Memorandum between the Ukrainian government and the IMF Executive Board.
