Imports of automobiles in Ukraine grows by 24%

Imports of passenger vehicles in Ukraine in January-July 2016 increased by 24% to 40,995 units, according to the State Statistics Service's website.

According to the report, the total customs value of imported vehicles amounted to 0.4 million, which is 68% more than last year.

At the same time, exports of vehicles from Ukraine during the reporting period decreased by almost twofold and amounted to only 99 units for a total amount of .2 million.

As UNIAN reported earlier, imports of passenger cars in Ukraine in January-June 2016 increased by 34% year-over-year, to 35,500 units. According to Ukravtoprom, last year import of passenger cars in Ukraine dropped by 41% to 86,492 units, worth a total of more than billion. At this, Ukraine exported only 1,060 vehicles in that period, which was 3.1 times less than in the previous year. In monetary terms, exports amounted to .4 million.
