American dream behind bars: Ukrainian might be jailed for fake ID

The US court to announce its decision on Artur Samarin today

Today, the American court will deliver its judgement for the Ukrainian, Artur Samarin, who lived in the States with a fake ID.

The student once decided to leave everything for the sake of an American dream. Initially, he was demonstrating good results at the Pennsylvania high school being a good example for others, until he was charged with identity fraud. He is also accused of having sex with a 15-year-old girl in 2014 when he was 22.

His fake identity was Asher Potts, who was registered as an 18 year old, although actually he is 23.

The charges on him could lead to penalties of up to 40 years in prison and USD 90,000 in fines.
