21-year old Syrian refugee attacked woman with a machete in Reutlingen, Germany

An assailant has been arrested by police following the attack.

The 21-year old stabbed a woman and two people who tried to protect her. Local press says he worked together with the victim and was in love with her. They had a quarrel minutes before the attack. The woman was from Poland, and she was pregnant.

The man tried to escape after the assault, but a passing-by BMW ran him over to stop. Police say the attacker is known to them, but the incident is not connected to terrorism.

This is the third attack in Germany during the last week. A teenager went on a rampage in Munich, killing nine people, on Friday, July 22. One more teenager attacked people with an axe on a train in Bavaria on July 19.
