Counter-terrorism swoop north of Paris: 20 people detained

French police conduct two raids in Argenteuil region

French special forces arrested at least twenty suspects during two raids in Argenteuil region north of Paris. The operations are conducted near a mosque and an Islamic bookstore. According to French media, no explosives or weapons were found during the searches.

The raid was ordered by the anti-terror prosecutor. Local intelligence services also took part.

The swoop is not directly connected to last week's attack in Nice, justice officials say.
