Crimean Tatar woman murdered on Russia-occupied peninsula

Authorities say the killing was not ethnically motivated

A 30-year-old Crimean Tatar woman is dead after an attack in the city of Stary Krym on the Russia-occupied peninsula.

The woman who was identified as Mumina Alieva was last seen at her workplace, a convenience store.

Authorities say, she was kidnapped by two attackers. Preliminary information indicates that one of the suspects is a former police station employee.

The spokesman for the Crimean Tatar Mejlis says the tragedy caused grave concern among the community, however, they do not suspect any political or ethnic motivation behind the killing.
