Drug traffickers build a home in California to conceal drug tunnel from Mexico
Investigators on Wednesday announced they uncovered a tunnel running from a restaurant in Mexico to a home in California that was used to smuggle illegal drugs in to the U.S.
Federal officials announced drug traffickers purchased a plot of land for 240,000 USD and spent an additional 86,000 USD to build a house on the land to conceal the tunnel. The traffickers began using the tunnel in February to transport narcotics.
On March 7 federal agents seized nearly 1400 pounds of marijuana.
