This time police received "orders from above" to apprehend 25 people at central market
25 Crimean Tatars were detained by police on the Russian-occupied peninsula on Saturday, May 7. The people were brought for interrogation, their fingerprints were taken by the law enforcers.
This was reported by Ukrainian journalist Osman Pashayev.
"25 Tatars were detained in Crimea. They were apprehended at the central market", Pashayev posted on Facebook.
The journalist added, the police explained the detentions by searching for criminals who had killed a family in Krasnodar, Russia. However, they failed to clarify why all arrested were Crimean Tatars.
"When asked why Russians couldn't be the suspects, an officer said "they could". When asked why the police detained the Tatars only, he answered "We are small people, we received an order from above", Pashayev said.
Earlier Russian police raided a Crimean mosque and captured one hundred Tatars.
