Russian diplomat detained in Kharkiv on bribe suspicion (video)

Consulate worker may be declared persona non grata

Ukraine's Security Service (SBU) has detained a diplomat working at Russia's General Consulate in Kharkiv on suspicion of giving a bribe.

According to SBU's statement, the man was offering USD 400 to a Ukrainian police officer for issuing two driver's licences.

The Russian national was released soon after the detainment as he had produced his diplomatic passport and accreditaion card proving his immunity.

The Security Service says the man may be declared persona non grata.
