Two hostages freed from Yerevan's seized police HQ

Earlier on Sunday, armed group stormed police station in Armenian capital

Armenian security service reports two hostages have been released after a special operation in the police headquarters in Yerevan. The building was stormed by an armed group on early Sunday.

According to the local media outlet News.am, one policeman was killed.

Local sources reported the group seized the building to demand the release of their jailed leader Jirayr Sefilyan, an opposition activist who was arrested for illegal arms trafficking and possession in June.
