Ukraine stops terrorists travel from Russia to Europe

State Security Service arrested a group that transferred Islamic State fighters from Russia to European countries

The crime ring consisted of five persons. According to UNIAN, the organizer was an acting employee of Eastern regional department of border service. He used his position to cover his accomplices' activity. Together they helped criminals to move from Russia to Europe and backward. This route was used by Islamic State terrorist organization for through traffic of fighters.

The operation started on August 29. First, Security Service arrested one of the suspects while illegally transferring two citizens of Ukraine to Russia. Later, other members of the group were detained. Now they are facing charges of illegal trafficking.
