Polish celebrity donates valuable Barbie collection

The charity auction aims to raise money for the Catholic Education Centre for Addiction Therapy, Metanoia

Over 100 Barbie dolls dressed in various outfits have been donated for a charity auction in Warsaw. Famous Polish actress, Patrycja Hurlak, donated her valuable collection.

All dolls have sentimental meaning - the celebrity has been collecting Barbie dolls since 1980 when the actress was a little girl. Patrycja Hurlak continued to collect fashionable toys being a grown woman. The oldest piece included in her collection dates back to 1963.

Each doll is worth a few hundred dollars, the most expensive one costs 1500 of Polish Zloty (around 360 dollars). All the funds from the auction will be donated to charity, the Catholic Education Centre for Addiction Therapy, Metanoia.

The organization, Metanoia, has been providing assistance to dependent children and young people aged 13 to 19 years for 16 years, but due to financial problems it faces risks of closing.
