A new wave of Russian aggression is looming on Ukraine's horizon as Moscow amasses its army in Donbas, Crimea and along the border
Russia has amassed a 100,000 troops in occupied Crimea and separatist-held parts of Donbas as well as along the Ukrainian border.
The divisions consist of tanks and airborne brigades, Ukraine's military spokesman Andriy Lysenko said in an interview with RFE/RL, according to UNIAN.
'There are some 40,000 troops in Donbas along the northern border and nearly 50,000-60,000 in the east. This group constantly changes and evolves', Lysenko said.
He added, approximately 700 tanks were located in militant-controlled bits of Donbas alone.
'Any escalation of the conflict will have bloody consequences both for Russia and our side, so the Russian aggressor is weighing its strength. It is conducting a very thorough reconnaissance,', Lysenko stated.
On August 26 President Putin announced sudden combat readiness check of his army.
