Kyiv says Russian-backed militants keep attacking Ukraine's soldiers despite recent agreement on ceasefire and withdrawal of troops
The Russian-backed separatist forces attacked positions of the government forces 35 times in the past 24 hours, according to a statement released by Ukraine's military press-service.
Despite the numerous ceasefire agreements, the militants keep using 82-mm and 120-mm mortars as well as grenade launchers, machine guns and sniper rifles.
Out of 35 attacks, 23 took place in the vicinity of Ukraine-controlled Mariupol and 6 occurred in the Donetsk sector in the vicinity of Adviivka, where a militant sniper was active.
The situation in the Luhansk region was traditionally calmer, however, another six attacks were registered in the vacinity, the report says.
