Russia dealt a huge blow upon Ukraine's economy, but it has managed to recover, the Ukrainian president says
The EU market compensates the losses that the Ukrainian economy suffers from the Russian aggression, the Ukraine's president Petro Poroshenko claimed on Monday.
According to Poroshenko, Ukraine suffers a huge blow from Russia's military aggression, closing its market and blocking transit to the third countries. Nevertheless, the EU-Ukraine free trade deal is already compensating losses in exports and imports, the Ukrainian leader said during the celebration of the third anniversary of the 2013-2014 Revolution of Dignity beginning.
"The Associaton agreement with the EU has already started giving results. The European Union's share in our external trade constitutes over 41%. The EU marked steadily starts compensating the giant blow upon the economy, social services and living standards, that was dealt by Russia with starting a war against us, closing the access to its market for the Ukrainian goods and blocking transit to the third countries", Poroshenko noted.
