More casualties in eastern Ukraine reported over last two days

Ukraine warns of militant provocation aimed at defaming government soldiers

One Ukrainian soldier was killed over the last 24 hours, according to Ukrainian military spokesperson Oleksandr Motuzianyk. Two other troops were reported wounded.

"Over the last day one Ukrainian soldier died, while two others were injured," Motuzianyk said during a briefing.

Ukraine's military spokesperson added the Russian forces are preparing a provocation on the separation line in order to defame Ukrainian army. He claimed the militants are planning to blow up one of their forward positions in front of the Russian Life News TV channel. According to Motuzianyk, the move is intended to demonstrate "Ukrainian army's use of heavy-calibre artillery."

On Friday, August 13, Motuzianyk also reported one servicemen had been killed, while four had been wounded.
