Three "Night Wolves" tried to cross Ukrainian-Belarusian border at night

Ukraine did not let Russian bikers enter its territory. According to Ukraine's State Border Guard Service, three men from pro-Putin motorbike gang 'Night Wolves' attempted to cross the Ukrainian-Belarusian border.

Ukrainian border guards report of strengthening the security measures to avoid possible provocations, as well as to prevent separatist or extremist forces from illegally entering the country.

In late April Poland banned a group of Russian bikers from crossing its borders. The same day Russia's Foreign Ministry summoned Polish Ambassador to Russia Katarzyna Pelczynska-Nalecz to inform on the situation.

On May 1st 'Night Wolves' gang once again tried to cut their way to the E.U. via Lithuania. The country's border patrol blocked the bikers from entry since they had no required documents, neither could they explain the reason for coming to the European Union. Additionally, one of the motorcycles had a Soviet star, a symbol of communism officially banned by the Lithuanian authorities.

Eventually, the motorbike gang managed to get to the E.U. through the Slovak border.

Russian bikers known as the 'Night Wolves' are famous for their loyalty to Russia's president Vladimir Putin. They strive to organize a mass Moscow-Berlin motorbike tour, commemorating the Red Army's victory over the Nazi Germany in 1945.

The 'Night Wolves' are blacklisted by the United States and Canada for taking part in Russia's annexation of Ukraine's Crimean Peninsula in March 2014. The bikers have also been vocal in their support for Russian-backed separatist forces fighting against Ukrainian government troops in eastern Ukraine.
