Ukraine may get USD 50 billion from Russia's Gazprom

Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce will start hearings in autumn

Ukraine may get USD 50 billion from Russia's Gazprom after Naftogaz's lawsuit is satisfied. This is according to development's director of Ukrainian Naftogaz Yuriy Vitrenko.

The lawsuit to the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce claims in total USD 50 billion among them nearly 30 are compensation for overpaying to Gazprom though receiving less gas. 20 more billion constitute additional financial flows Ukraine is supposed to receive after the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce makes final decision.

Vitrenko claims Russia deliberately delays the process. Hearings in court are planned for the following autumn, meanwhile Ukraine is strengthening its positions with expert assistance, says development's director. Yuriy Vitrenko also adds, if there are no political hazards, Kyiv is about to win the process and get back the money.
