Ukrainian presidential envoy Iryna Gerashchenko banned from entering Russia for 5 years

FSB declares Gerashchenko "a threat to national security"

Ukrainian presidential envoy Iryna Gerashchenko has been banned from entering Russia for 5 years. That information has been posted on the Facebook page of the Bloc of Ukrainian president Petro Poroshenko.

According to the post, Gerashchenko alongside other members of the Ukrainian parliament were attempting to travel to the Russian city of Donetsk to attend the trial of Ukrainian pilot Nadiya Savchenko. When crossing the Ukrainian-Russian border, the group was stopped by the Russia's Federal Security Service, the FSB. They told Gerashchenko her visit was a threat to Russian national security.
