Ukraine's National Guard mastering new tactics under supervision of Italian carabiniers

Experts from Italy arrived in Ukraine to teach ‘the new standards of how to keep order'

Italian carabiniers arrived in Ukraine on August 29 to train the National Guard servicemen. They are expected to stay in the country for four weeks, Ukrainian institution reports. 

Italian experts will help local officers ‘master new standards of maintaining order on the streets'. The course consists of several different exercises, including the joint patrols of remote and hard-to-reach areas.

Under the supervision, the National Guard members will learn how to best tackle and arrest potential wrongdoers, react to civilians' reports. Measures taken during natural disasters are also a part of the program.

36 Ukrainian officers and several local instructors will undergo the training course. 

The carabiniers or carabinieri are the national gendarmerie in Italy, which polices civilian population as well as the military.
