Vira Savchenko was detained at the Russia-Ukraine border late last night because of an alleged criminal case launched against her in Russia.

Luckily the Ukrainian consul in the region of Rostov-on-Don was able to keep her in the consular vehicle meaning that she was under Ukraine's diplomatic protection. After many hours of awaiting they were allowed to leave for the Ukrainian consulate in the Russian city of Rostov-on-Don.
