Iaroslav Gregirchak explains what needs to be done to make Ukraine more attractive for investors and businesses
Ukraine's Deputy Business Ombudsman Iaroslav Gregirchak joins Ukraine Today to discuss the progress in improving the business environment in Ukraine.
"Our mandate is twofold. First, to investigate the individual complaints lodged by businesses against all the types of the government agencies. And second is to write systemic reports on the issues that negatively characterize the quality of business environment in Ukraine."
"We do not only issue recommendations, but we are constantly monitoring the implementation of our recommendations, and this monitoring is an important element of our work."
"There are 6 reports issued so far, concerning problems faced by businesses in connection with the ongoing military operation in eastern Ukraine and the annexation of Crimea; problems with foreign economic activity; relations of businesses with natural monopolies; the problem of getting hooked up to electricity; the problem with administering business taxes, and the problem of abuse of power by the law enforcement agencies."
