Overnight attack leaves at least one civilian wounded
The town of Avdiivka in Donetsk region remains a hotspot of military hostilities in eastern Ukraine.
On Saturday night, Russian-backed militants shelled the residential area of the town wounding at least one civilian, the Main Directorate of the National Police in Donetsk region reports.
The military press centre of Ukraine stated the separatist forces used 122mm-calibre artillery systems during the attack.
"After shelling our positions, the militants turned their weapons and fired in the direction of Donetsk," the press centre said, adding the provocation was conducted to blame Ukraine's army.
The information on casualties and damage is yet to be specified.
