Ukrainian troops participate in biggest war games in eastern Europe

Anaconda 2016 - NATO's largest military exercises on the alliance's eastern flank - are taking place in Poland.

The list of participants includes 19 NATO member states, as well as 6 partner states from a joint program "The Partnership for Peace" that includes Ukraine.

For more than 10 days 30,000 troops, backed by large numbers of vehicles, aircraft, and ships, will perform maneuvers aimed to reassure eastern European nations alarmed by Russia's actions in nearby Ukraine.

The joint international drills come just weeks before the key NATO summit in Warsaw.
