Trudeau concludes his three-day Ukraine visit inspecting military exercises
Canada's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau visited the city of Lviv in western Ukraine. He became the first head of the foreign government to attend the military drills on Yavoriv training field to witness how the Canadian instructors are teaching the Ukrainian soldiers.
Currently there are 200 military coaches from Canada are working on the base. For six months they have been teaching 5 Ukrainian battalions according to the NATO standards.
Ukraine's Deputy Defence Minister says the Canadians are set to continue working in Ukraine, all the formalities have been settled so far.
Ihor Dolgov, Ukraine's Deputy Defence Minister: "It is settled that Ukrainian soldiers will study at Canadian military educational institutions. Here instead they [Canadians] are set to further teach our sergeants and conduct individual trainings for intelligence officers."
Trudeau has been talking to the media no longer than half an hour. After that he went to the private meeting with his compatriots.
