China to establish free trade area with Ukraine - Ambassador

Enhancing trade between Ukraine and China is desirable for Beijing, the Ambassador says

China is initiating the process of establishing free trade area with Ukraine, the Ambassador of China to Ukraine Du Wei claimed on Monday, the UNIAN agency reports. 

Beijing hopes that their Ukrainian counterpart will actively study such possibilities, the top Chinese diplomat said during a forum on developing the New Silk Road trade project in Kyiv.

"The Chinese side has proposed on a working level an ambitious goal - the establishment of a Ukrainian-Chinese free trade area. We hope that the Ukrainian side will intensify their research on this issue," the Ambassador said.
