Construction worker dies after falling from 53rd floor of unfinished skyscraper

Tower set to be tallest on U.S. west coast

A construction worker has lost his life after falling from the 53rd floor of an unfinished skyscraper in Los Angeles. Police say the man struck a vehicle on the street.

The women driving the car was not injured. The building from which the man fell is set to be the tallest on the U.S. west coast. It will have 73 stories in total when completed next year.

The construction company is extending its condolences to the family of the deceased. An investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death is underway.
