Czech Republic calls on Russia to immediately release Savchenko

Statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Nadiya Savchenko's case

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic has been following closely the case of the Ukrainian pilot Nadiya Savchenko who was sentenced to 22 years in prison by the Donetsk City Court.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs calls on the Russian Federation to immediately release Nadiya Savchenko on humanitarian grounds, bearing in mind its international commitments, and allow Ms. Savchenko to return to Ukraine.

The release of all detained persons is part of the Package of measures for the implementation of the Minsk agreements agreed in February 2015.
