Bohdan Vitvitsky is expected to become head of contest committee, which will reveal corrupt prosecutors
Former U.S. federal prosecutor of Ukrainian descent Bohdan Vitvitsky could possibly join Ukraine's prosecution. Vitvitsky is expected to help clean the corrupt General Prosecutor's office. This is reported by the current head of the institution, Yuriy Lutsenko.
"The schedule and format of the General inspection, which will reveal corrupt prosecutors, is agreed upon with our American partners. I am planning to appoint Mr. Vitvitsky as a head of the contest committee", Lutsenko posted on Facebook.
Lutsenko added, Vitvitsky's appointment would take place in July.
Yuriy Lutsenko became the head of Ukraine's prosecution on May 12. He replaced Viktor Shokin, who was sacked by the country's Parliament in March. Shokin was criticised for his professional skills since his appointement in early 2015. Many blamed him for failing to prosecute the murders, which took place during the Maidan Revolution.
New General Prosecutor is expected to bring this and many other investigation to an end, and reform the infamously corrupt institution.
