Further delaying of visa-free regime implementation is unacceptable - Ukraine's Foreign Ministry

Ukraine expects a positive decision of European Union in the nearest future

Ukraine has met all the criteria of liberalization plan for Ukraine and further postponing is visa-free regime is unacceptable - said Olena Zerkal, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine for the European Integration, during a meeting with Hugh Mingarelli, EU representative in Ukraine.

Olena Zerkal reminded: Ukraine has created anti-corruption agencies that already show their effectiveness, implemented the e-declaring system according to the highest European standards of corruption fight. That is why Ukraine expects that EU institutions will put additional efforts into approving the move on implementing the visa-free regime for citizens of Ukraine. This process should go irrelatively to ratification of temporary suspension of visa-free regime inside the EU.

The meeting participants also discussed the decision of the European Commission to increase Gazprom gas pumping through OPAL pipeline. Ukraine considers it to be a violation of Association agreement between Ukraine and the European Union.
