Increased militant shelling in eastern Ukraine brings new casualties

Five Ukrainian soldiers reported killed in last day

Russian-backed separatist forces have initiated 30 attacks against Ukrainian army positions over the last 24 hours, Ukrainian military press service has reported on Facebook. Five soldiers have been killed in the shelling, four more were wounded, according to Ukraine's military spokesperson Oleksandr Motuzyanyk.

Ukraine military reports 13 attacks in the direction of Donetsk, 12 – in the direction of Mariupol, five more – in Luhansk direction.

Motuzyanyk added a new hotspot appeared on the frontline, the village of Novoselivka Druha in Donetsk region, where the militants attempted to storm Ukrainian positions.
