'If we lose propaganda war, it is because we are not fighting it' - Spanish Ambassador

Ambassador of Spain to Ukraine discusses information security and counterpropaganda measures

On the sidelines of Odesa Security Forum, Ambassador of Spain to Ukraine Angel Gerardo Bugallo Ottone joins Ukraine Today to talk on informational security and possible steps to be made against Russia's propaganda machine.

‘I think that the main aim of the Russian propaganda is to create confusion. It is easy to create confusion, but it is hard to fight it…Another aim of the Russian propaganda is to make everybody to perceive Russia as much bigger and stronger than it really is.'

‘We don't have to create more news, we have to change the narrative. We have to go to the noblest idea of propaganda. Propaganda comes from ‘propagate' – to propagate your values…In order to reach big audiences, the most popular means would be cinema and television as they create stereotypes and icons.'
