Jan Piekło is to become new Polish ambassador to Ukraine

Polish Foreign Minister Witold Waszczykowski officially presented the documents to Jan Piekło on behalf of the president

Ukraine got a new Polish ambassador. During the last 11 years, Jan Piekło was a director of the Polish-Ukrainian cooperation foundation, PAUCI. Before starting the diplomatic activity, he worked as a journalist, as well as coordinator of educational projects. He is a longtime commentator for Polish and Ukrainian media. A graduate of the Jagiellonian University. Jan Piekło specialized on the Balkan region and wrote two books about it.

The diplomate will release from duty his predecessor, Henryk Litwin. He was working in Kyiv since May 2010. Poland announced the general refreshment of diplomatic corps. Warsaw is going to replace more than one-third of its ambassadors all over the world.
