Nearly 30 tanks were transported to eastern Ukraine over the past week
Russia deploys another convoy of military equipment, trucks and fueling vehicles to Ilovaisk (the militant-held town in the Donetsk region), says Deputy Director of Main Intelligence Directorate at Ukraine's Defence Ministry Vadym Skibitsky, according to the Ukrainian news outlet Novoe Vremya.
"Over the last week, about 30 tanks, 11 armoured vehicles, six Grad multiple-rocket launch systems, and a large amount of ammunition were transported to eastern Ukraine. More trucks carrying food and military equipment for the Russian-backed occupation forces are expected to arrive on August 2", said Skibitsky during his on-air interview with the Ukrainian TV channel 112.
He suggested that militants can plot new provocations in the conflict zone.
"Now we are planning to hold command and staff exercises for the first and second Army Corps. The drill will take place alongside the southern military district exercises. The drills are scheduled for August 8. Militants can resort to provocations," said Skibitsky.
Earlier Ukraine's intelligence officers reported that combined Russian-backed forces maintain their military readiness, conduct rotation, enhance their advanced units, and improve the frontline engineering equipment.
