Regional Children's Hospital staff say it helps newborn babies learn how to breathe on their own
Children's hospital in Ivano-Frankivsk now has a device which helps premature babies learn how to breathe on their own. The hospital purchased new equipment with the help of donations as well as some funds from the city budget.
Radyslav Koturbash, Ivano-Frankivsk regional children's Hospital Chief: "This device regulates every breath the premature baby takes along with the humidity that is necessary for the lungs to maintain proper function."
It's been three weeks since the device became operational at the hospital. Medics say it has already saved at least six newborn babies.
