Lithuania and Ukraine to sign Memorandum on training Ukrainian soldiers

Lithuania has been one of the staunchest allies of Ukraine and critics of the Kremlin since Russian annexation of Сrimea in 2014   

On April 18, Defence Ministers of Ukraine and Lithuania - Stepan Poltorak and Juozas Olekas - will sign the Memorandum on cooperation regarding military training of Ukraine's military forces. This is reported by Ukraine's Defence Ministry.

"Following the talks, the parties plan to sign the Memorandum of Understanding between Ukraine's Defence Ministry and Lithuania's Ministry of National Defence to implement measures regarding military training of Ukraine's Armed Forces ", says the statement.

Earlier, the Ukrainian government allocated USD 0.3 billion (300 mln) for army equipment.
