Negotiators fail to seal another prisoner swap

The Trilateral Contact Group in Minsk reached an agreement on a full ceasefire in Donbas for the Orthodox Easter and May holidays. This information was reported to the journalists by the OSCE special envoy Martin Sajdik.

"The participants of the Minsk process agreed to ensure the full compliance with the ceasefire regime for the upcoming Easter and May holidays, which will come into force on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at 00 hours 00 minutes," the statement says.

"The order on the full compliance with the ceasefire will be communicated to all responsible persons on the ground," the negotiators added.

At the same time, members of the humanitarian subgroup failed to agree on another prisoner exchange, which Ukrainian side was hoping for. According to Sajdik, the subgroup was only able to negotiate the opening of the checkpoint in Stanytsia Luhanska, starting from April 30.

The next meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group is scheduled for May 18.
