Minsk: Ukraine demands new ceasefire and control over border

Ukrainian representatives called on Russia and its proxies to adhere their obligations and stop shooting from September 1, 2016

The trilateral contact group expressed the need for a complete permanent ceasefire at the Donbass from 1 September 2016, the spokesperson of Ukrainian Ex-President Leonid Kuchma, Darka Olifer, wrote on Facebook. The new school year will begin on this day and in Ukrainian-controlled part of Donbass over 150 thousand children will go to the schools and kindergartens.

"We insist: all children of Donetsk and Lugansk regions, regardless of where they live, have a right for care and security. That is why Ukraine insists on a complete ceasefire. The Ukrainian side consistently executes all Minsk agreement, and urges the Russian Federation and its proxies stop violating its adheres and stop shooting on September 1, 2016," – Darka Olifer says.

Ukrainian representative in Minsk, vice-speaker of Verkhovna Rada (Ukraine's Parliament) Iryna Gerashchenko added, that Ukraine in Minsk insists on the creation of workgroup on the regaining of the Ukrainian control over the border with Russia, UNIAN reports.

According to the Ukrainian side, the control over the border in Donetsk and Lugansk regions is the key point in general progress on security and humanitarian issues of Minsk agreements. Therefore, closing the 400 km section of the eastern border is the principal point for Ukraine, stressed Gerashchenko.

In his turn Special Representative of the OSCE in Trilateral contact group Martin Sajdik reminded group said that the German leadership has prepared thoroughly to discuss the situation in Ukraine OSCE meeting in Potsdam on September 1. That would be informal summit of Foreign Ministers of the OSCE.

Also today Ukrainian intelligence released the report, in which stated that Russia ordered to 'kill the Minsk agreements'.
