Alliance will give Ukraine political and practical aid at summit in Warsaw - Stoltenberg
NATO's political and practical assistance for Ukraine will come to a new level at the summit in Warsaw, said Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg at the press-conference in Brussels, on July 4, Ukrainian media report.
At the upcoming summit, the Alliance members will not only offer political support for Ukrainian sovereignty and territorial integrity, but will adopt a comprehensive practical aid package.
"This package will include strategic advisory support. We already provide assistance to Ukraine through trust funds that cover areas like command and control, logistics and cyber security. We will add new projects with various activities through trust funds. There will be also projects applying to hybrid warfare, explosives disposal and strategic communications," said Stoltenberg.
NATO Secretary General considers stable and sovereign Ukraine as a guarantee for Euro-Atlantic security.
"Independent, sovereign and stable Ukraine, firmly committed to democracy and the rule of law is a key factor in Euro-Atlantic security," said Stoltenberg.
Ukraine's President Petro Poroshenko and US President Barack Obama will meet at the NATO Summit in Warsaw, which will take place on July 8-9.
