The US President advocates for preserving anti-Russian sanctions ahead of the Normandy meeting
Washington and Rome stand together on keeping anti-Russian sanctions until the Minsk agreements provisions are implemented.
That was stated by Barack Obama during a joint press conference with Italy's Prime-Minister. The American President said the US is ready to cooperate with the Normandy Four group diplomatically in order to achieve the Donbas conflict settlement under the Minsk deal.
The official meeting with Matteo Renzi was the last official head of state meeting for Barack Obama while holding his presidential post. The politicians talked about Russia's actions in a global context that they "undermine the world order". According to the Presidents' statements, Moscow must help solve global problems but not create new ones.
