Russian delegation lied about full access for organization's SMM to Ukraine-Russia border

Daniel Baer, US Ambassador to the OSCE, accused the Russian delegation of lying. The incident happened at a meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council. Russians insisted the OSCE SMM has full access to the occupied territories.

"Russia told the OSCE Permanent Council that the special monitoring mission has access to the border. This is not true", Daniel Baer declared

The Russian-backed separatist forces have not provided the OSCE monitors with full access to the territory. Moreover, Russian military representatives in Joint Center for Control and Coordination refused to provide the OSCE with the information on cease-fire violations, in particular, near the town of Yasynuvata.

"The combined Russian-separatist forces provide the SMM with access from time to time and only when, as the mission deputy head Alexander Hug said, the observers can see nothing there", the American diplomat stated
