One Ukrainian soldier killed, five wounded in Donbas

Fighting continues as militants launch attacks on Ukrainian Army positions 

One Ukrainian soldier was killed, another five were injured overnight in the conflict zone in eastern Ukraine, Ukraine's military spokesman Andriy Lysenko reported at a press-conference in Kyiv, on July 18.

Over the past 24 hours, combined Russian-backed forces violated the ceasefire 64 times, launching attacks on the Ukrainian Army positions in Donbas.

Intense fighting continues in the Donetsk direction - Avdiyivka industrial zone suffers from constant shelling.

"By evening the enemy launched a powerful mortar attack, which lasted about five hours. Again, residential neighbourhoods were under attack: two houses were damaged, a local resident was wounded", Lysenko added.

Militants reportedly used weapons banned under the Minsk agreements.
