Pope Francis prays for peace in Ukraine during Easter sermon in Vatican

The pontiff condemned terrorism, though, appealing to the West not to turn away from refugees

Pope Francis hopes for peace in Ukraine. This was one of his main points during a traditional Easter divine service.

The pontiff prayed for the soonest end of war in the region of Donbas and for the prisoners' release. The head of the Roman Catholic church also condemned terrorism. He said the recent attacks in Belgium remind him of the times of war.

The Pope's sermon gathered more than 10 thousand believers.

In the light of the recent attacks in Belgium Vatican significantly increased the security.
