Petro Poroshenko has met with Dutch Prime Minister Mart Rutte on the margins of Warsaw NATO Summit. During their conversation Poroshenko expressed his gratitude for his position on sectoral and economic sanctions against Russia.

The sides have also coordinated their further actions on the investigation of the flight MH17 downed by Russian-backed separatist forces on July 17, 2014.

On April 6, the Netherlands held a consultative referendum on the Ukraine-EU Association Agreement. 61% of the votes were cast against the agreement with 38.21% of the voters supporting it. The turnout was 32.28%.

Currently the European Commission and Ukraine are waiting for the Netherlands' propositions on the post-referendum steps.
