Poroshenko paying historic visit to Norway

This is the first time Ukrainian President arrives in Norway  

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has arrived in Norway to meet with the country's political leadership.

According to the Poroshenko administration, this is the first such visit in the history of diplomatic relations between the two nations.

The President will meet with Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg, King of Norway Harald V, and the President of the Storting (the country's Parliament) Olaf Michael ‘Olemic' Thommessen.

Poroshenko is expected to sign a number of bilateral agreements, aimed to deepen cooperation between Ukraine and Norway.

The Ukrainian President is also expected to take part in the Ukrainian-Norwegian business forum.

Norway is a NATO member, and has supported Ukraine's territorial integrity and condemned Russian aggression.
