This autumn Putin has already visited the peninsula which was illegally incorporated into Russian Federation in 2014. On September 15 he chaired a meeting of the presidium of the Russia's State Council on the development of the transportation system of 'south of Russia' in Kerch.

Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs had repeatedly protested visits to the Ukrainian territory by foreign officials and delegations without consent of the Kyiv authorities.
