Hungary is divided over the migrant question
92 percent of voters in Hungary say NO to the migrant quota. This is what Hungarian president wanted - only the turnout did not reach the needed 50% and the referendum is now considered moot.
Prime minister Viktor Orban claims he will use the referendum results to put pressure on the European Union. According to the EU plan, 150 thousand illegal migrants should be distributed among the EU countries according to quotas, set in Brussels. Hungary is appealing the decision to European court and even raised a fence at the border with Serbia.
