As tensions in Kyiv escalate, so does the situation in the Verkhovna Rada

As the situation in Kyiv is getting more volatile, the tensions in the country's Parliament escalate as well.

While thousands have flooded central Kyiv in protest, lawmakers can't keep it cool and got into a second fight in the last two days.

According to Ukrainian media outlets, a scandalous member of the Radical party Ihor Mosiychuk got into a brawl against an alleged associate of Viktor Medvedchuk, a former politician, suspected of having close ties with Russia.

Video of the incident was uploaded by Ukrainian 112 Channel

After the conflict flared up, the leader of the Radical party Oleh Liashko, who had been through a similar situation yesterday, got involved and tried to cool the tensions down.

Liashko claimed afterwards that Medvedchuk's associate had come to Parliament to ‘destabilize the situation'.

The other member of the Radical Party Andriy Lozovyi alleged the associate had been allowed into the Parliament thanks to Yulia Tymoshenko, a leader of another Ukrainian political power Batkivschyna.

A day earlier Oleh Liashko was attacked by a member of the pro-Kremlin opposition Yuriy Boyko, who said he didn't like Liashko's statements against him and wanted to defend his dignity.
