FSB threatens Ukrainian cryptologic officer, forcing him into cooperattion
To achieve their purpose, Russia's FSB officers found the Ukrainian diplomat's old classmate - some retired colonel of Russia's armed forces who used to study at the Military School together with the Ukrainian diplomat.
The FSB pressed and forced him to address the Ukrainian cryptologic officer with a confidential cooperation proposal.
In case the Ukrainian diplomat gave his consent, Russian special services promised to help him privatize his property in the temporarily annexed Crimea and bring his family to Russia. If the diplomat refused to cooperate, the FSB officers threatened they would help send his son to the frontline in eastern Ukraine.
The SBU officers checked out this information and said Russia's FSB did not have any opportunity to fulfil their threats.
Following the briefing with Ukrainian counterintelligence officers, the diplomat avoided any further contact with Russia's FSB.
The SBU ensured protection for his family and arranged his return to Ukraine.
